Any sunscreen lotion when applied to the skin helps your
skin against damage sun UV rays and hence minimizes skin damage and repair. Apply sun
screen lotion at least 30 minutes before going out in sun. For ongoing
protection, apply it before and after swimming, sun exposure and near the sea
side.
To avoid scorching heat, you can use SPF Sun protection
factor. It indicates the protection your skin will have after applying it when
your skin is exposed. SPF 15 will protect your skin for 150 minutes while you
are out in sun. Sunscreens should be applied again after 3-4 hour as no
sunscreen give you long lasting protection. Normally SPF 15 to 20 is fine for
women around the world with normal weather conditions. Skin that is sensitive
and more prone to pigmentation need SPF 30 and above. For oily skin, you should
use low SPF sunscreen as sunscreen lotion itself is oily and can create pimples
and acne. For complete protection in sun, use umbrellas, hats and covered clothing.
Children skin is sensitive and more prone to skin burn as
compared to adults. Children play outside that’s why they are more prone to sun
damages. Children should not be exposed in sunlight. Special sunscreen lotions
are available for children, designed according to their skin type.
